Set in the countryside of what locals call "green country"(asturias) Hotel Casa L'Atalaya is surrounded by wonderful veiws of the sea to the north and spectactular mountain ranges to the south which can all be seen from within the hotel itself. The surrounding area would be perfect for all those who would like to see the quieter side of Spain, amongst which you would find its beautiful villages and cosy bars which sell the famous Asturian sidras(cider) where it is encouraged to try the traditional way of pouring the drink from as high as you can reach with the bottle to as low as you can reach with the glass which is said to release the full flavour of the locally grown apples. There are shops located in the nearest town named Nueva de Llanes which sell locally produced cheeses of many varieties along with meats such as the traditional chorizo and less known but equally delicious lomo meat. There are many small beaches dotted along the coastline for those seeking a little tranquility in the sun and a train station situated around 500meters from the hotel for those wishing to commute and explore. If your seeking some nightlife there are sidra bars in Nueva and one in the neighbouring town La Pesa which all have wonderful environments where you can relax and enjoy traditional cider with the vibrant local people of asturias. If your willing to travel a little further to the buetiful marina town of Llanes there are plenty shops, cafes, bars and clubs. If your looking for somwhere to eat in Llanes the choices range from bakeries, icecream parlours, coffe shops, many spanish restaurants and even a mexican restaurant with a wide variety of mexican foods prepared by mexican chefs for great quality and authenticity. There are plenty trails that lead into the mountains for the adventurous who enjoy hiking which start just outside neighbouring town Nueva or paths which guide you along the breathtaking coastlines, alot of which can be seen from the windows of hotel La Atalaya as it is situated atop a small hill giving it a perfect view of the surrounding beauty
