About
The Royal Palace of El Pardo, located just outside Madrid, is one of Spain’s oldest royal residences, dating back to the 15th century. Originally a hunting lodge, the palace evolved under successive monarchs, incorporating Spanish Renaissance and Neoclassical elements, and has housed important tapestries produced by the Royal Factory of Santa Bárbara—including pieces by the celebrated painter Goya. Today the palace functions as a state guest house for visiting dignitaries, with parts of the interior open to the public for guided tours that highlight its historic rooms, ornate galleries, and the iconic tapestry collection.
