Castillo de El-Bil-Bil
About
Castillo El Bil‑Bil, located on Avenida Antonio Machado in the scenic coastal town of Benalmádena Costa, is a modernist landmark that once served as a summer residence for the Hermann family before becoming a vibrant cultural hub in the 1980s. The building, designed by architect Enrique Atencia, showcases a blend of neo‑Mudéjar and Islamic‑inspired motifs, complemented by intricate tilework and wrought‑iron details imported from Granada. Today, the castle houses five spacious rooms and a central patio that can accommodate up to 100 seats, making it an ideal venue for concerts, exhibitions, art fairs and community events. The venue’s programming is diverse, ranging from classical music, flamenco, contemporary visual art, to educational workshops for children and adults alike. With a welcoming ambience and convenient seaside location, visitors can explore the castle’s cultural offerings while enjoying panoramic views of the Mediterranean. The site is part of the Casa de la Cultura network and remains open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm, and on weekends from 9 am to 3 pm, allowing tourists to experience its artistic heritage at a relaxed pace.
