Please book through HostelWorld. The house had been abandoned and was a ruin when we found it in 1986. With the help of friends and local people we made it habitable again and in 1988 opened Los Albergues as a backpackers hostel. There is a special spirit of mutual aid at Los Albergues and many visitors contribute by sharing their skills and creativity in helping to maintain this magical place. Accomodation One dormitory with 8 bunk beds, sheets, sleeping bags and blankets (13€ night) One double room with wooden stove (35€ night) One well equipped self-catering kitchen. Bathroom with hot shower. (The compost-toilets are just outside the house) Two terraces with splendid views. One big sitting-room with open chimney and many books in English, Dutch, German, French. Well situated for mountain walks and trails through traditional Moorish villages. It is a more or less smartphone free zone. The village of Pitres with bars, supermarkets, shop, internet etc. just a 7 minute walk away.
