This delightful 15th century Episcopal residence is in many ways the prototype of the Galician Pazo (a lodging were the kings spent at least one night). Bentraces is, in fact, strategically located on the "Route of the Romanesque". Only the noblest of materials, such as walnut, chesnut, marble and porcelain were used in the restoration, the result of wich is a continuation of the old world charm. The rooms are splendid and ample as well as being decorated with numerous fine antiques and combination of stone and wood works harmoniously. This is an excellent place for lovers of antique pieces. Outside, the grounds are beautiful and a dip in the swimming pool or a walk around the surroundings are an excellent way to relax and while away the day.Those wanting to venture a little bit further out can visit Ourense or the Galician coast nearby. The Hotel has wifi and free parking.
