Casa Navas
About
Casa Navas is the only surviving example in Europe of a modernist mansion that keeps its original interior untouched, a remarkable achievement by Lluís Domènech i Montaner. Built between 1901 and 1908, the house combines elegant architecture with the original textile shop, mosaics, stained‑glass windows and handmade furnishings. Visitors can explore the house through several guided options – a standard 55‑minute tour, a theatrical performance featuring hidden rooms, a vermut tasting on the terrace, and a special camera‑ready Fotografía tour. Each experience offers insights into the building’s story, the impact of the Civil War, and the restoration work carried out by the current owners. The 1908 layout, rich with decorative details, makes it a living museum of modernist craftsmanship and historical continuity. The site’s opening hours are Monday to Sunday, offering daily visits. The recommended visit duration ranges from 55 minutes to 1.5 hours, with an average of about one hour of guided exploration. The best season to visit is during spring and early autumn when the weather is pleasant and crowds are smaller, allowing visitors to enjoy the stunning interior at a relaxed pace.
