Piramides de Guimar
About
The Pirámides de Güímar Ethnographic Park is a 64,000‑square‑metre outdoor museum located in the heart of Tenerife, Canary Islands. Visitors step into a time capsule where six step‑pyramids, rumored to be built in the 19th century, rise from the volcanic terrain. The park is complemented by a modern visitor centre, a museum showcasing Thor Heyerdahl’s research, an auditorium with a permanent documentary, and three themed gardens – the Botanical Garden, the Sustainable Garden and the Toxic‑Plant Garden. Walking routes wind through the park’s unique flora, offering views of the nearby “Ocean of Plastic” exhibition, the Rapa Nui themed area, and the rainforest‑like Tropicarium. Designed as a living museum, the site encourages learning about archaeology, astronomy, ecology and Polynesian history, making it a memorable experience for families, history enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
