About
The building of the old fishermen's guild has become, since 2016, the interpretation center of Calafell as a fishing town, whose mission is to tell a part of the collective past, the recent history of the maritime neighborhood. A place made to keep alive the legacy of the beach with "more wood" on the Catalan coast, as described by the poet Carlos Barral. The center allows visitors to know the lifestyle and the social structure of the fishermen community: the relationship between employers and "remitgers", jobs at sea and on land, their social and cultural expressions, in short, a way of life which brings us to the last century.
