About

Åsens by Culture Reserve is an unique example of how a small village in Småland looked like 100 years ago. Here you can wander around, enjoy locally grown food, ride a horse and carriage, stay overnight in one of the village's houses in or participate in various activities and experience farming with horsepower and old fashion household chores. The children can play in the playground barn or learn about old times in the museum. The food that serves varies and depends, just like 100 years ago, by the season and the availability of locally grown products. During the summer old Swedish landraces graze in the old agricultural landscape. There are also hiking trails, barbecue areas and windbreaks for adventurous overnight stays. The cottage rental and the hostel are just like the reserve open all year round (free admission to the reserve including museum, playground in the barn, hiking trails etcetera). For the cafe and shop opening hours and event calendar please see the webpage.
