Friends Arena
About
Friends Arena, known as Strawberry Arena, is Sweden’s premier multi‑purpose stadium situated in Solna, just outside Stockholm. Opened in 2012, the venue offers a flexible 50,000‑seat capacity for football and up to 60,000 for concerts, thanks to its adaptable seating and state‑of‑the‑art acoustics. It has hosted high‑profile events such as the 2017 UEFA Europa League final, the 2013 Women’s Euro final, and concerts by Beyoncé, Coldplay, and Taylor Swift. The arena also features a vibrant culinary scene with the popular Signalparken festival area, A Bistro Bar, and premium lounges on the main floor. The stadium’s design allows for rapid surface changes—from natural grass to artificial turf or ice—making it suitable for football, rugby, and ice hockey in addition to concerts. An impressive 3,750 m² retractable roof can be opened in just 15 minutes, offering an open‑air experience on warm days. FIFA and UEFA regulations are fully met, and the venue offers world‑class press boxes, a media kindergarten with large screens, and award‑winning architectural features. Friends Arena is fully accessible for visitors with special needs, providing ramps, accessible seating, and dedicated services. It is well connected to public transport with bus and tram lines serving Solna, and ample parking is available nearby.
