Millesgarden Museum
About
Millesgården is a world‑renowned art museum and sculpture garden perched on the island of Lidingö, just a short trip from Stockholm’s city center. Founded in 1936 as a foundation, the site encompasses the historic home of sculptor Carl Milles and his wife Olga, an expansive sculpture park filled with Milles’ iconic bronze and granite works, and a contemporary art hall housing temporary exhibitions. Visitors can stroll through terraces adorned with fountains and stone stacks, explore the artist’s former studio and the elegant Annes Hus—renovated by renowned designers Estrid Ericson and Josef Frank—and enjoy the café and restaurant overlooking the charming gardens. The museum’s programming is enriched by seasonal events, family‑friendly activities, and guided tours, making it a cultural hub for locals and tourists alike.
