About

Erlandergården in Ransäter is a museum honouring the Swedish prime minister Tage Erlander. As the longest elected minister on his post with 23 years he came to shape the folkhem (peoples home) and the modern Swedish welfare state from 1946 to 1969. The museum depicts his childhood home and school, as his father Erik Gustaf Erlander was a teacher the Erlander family lived and worked in the same buildning in Ransäter. In the late 1980s and early 1990s the school and a newly build exhibition building was completed depicting a school in the early 20th century and Tage Erlanders life as a beloved politician.
