Built in 1788, this romantic inn was one of Switzerland's first post offices - and the last overnight stop before the ascent to the Gotthard Pass. Famous guests included J. W. Goethe and Hans Christian Andersen. Exquisite antiques recall the golden age of travel by mail-coach, winning the hotel a special ICOMOS conservation award in 2009.
