AlpenHirt: The Revolutionary Nutritionist Adrian Hirt of AlpenHirt has returned. Over ten years ago, he moved far away from the Grisons mountain village where he and his ancestors grew up. Away from his roots, Adrian trained as a food engineer, worked in the pharmaceutical industry, trained with a butcher, raised cows in Canada, and ran a butcher shop in the Caribbean. These combined experiences brought about the revelation that nutrition and food production are his calling, but in a new way - Adrian doesn’t want to participate in the exploitation of the environment, animals or humans for globalized consumption. Upon his return to Tschiertschen, Adrian founded his company AlpenHirt and began to produce dried meat in different variations according to the old, unchanged recipe of his grand-grandfather. There are no additives like sugar or salt, and a healthy dose of passion, honesty and innovation. If, as Adrian says, the next revolution is about food.
