MRL - Maison Rousseau et Litterature
About
In the heart of the Maison Rousseau et Littérature, established in the writer’s birthplace, the Rousseau Path awaits your visit. The exhibition was born of the conviction that Jean-Jacques Rousseau (1712-1778) is the author of a body of work likely to captivate its readers like few others do today. Although he was born in Geneva at the dawn of the Age of Enlightenment and spent most of his childhood and adolescence there, the scope of his thought and writing extends far beyond the walls of the city. The Rousseau Path does not follow the writer’s biography, but is organised thematically. Seven topics addressed by Rousseau in his work are explored in relation to present-day concerns. The audiovisual itinerary brings Rousseau to life and enables the visitor to discover the multiple facets of the author of The Social Contract, The Confessions and The New Heloise.
