Parc La Grange
About
Parc La Grange is Geneva’s largest and most celebrated urban park, offering a living tapestry of nature, history and culture. Spanning 200,000 m², the park is famed for its majestic rise of centuries‑old cedar and plane trees, Geneva’s largest rose garden, alpine‑themed sections, elegant orangeries and a tranquil paddling pool for children. The historic 18th‑century Villa La Grange rises at the park’s heart, housing a valued library of over 12,000 old books curated by Guillaume Favre and managed today by the Bibliothèque de Genève. The villa’s grand rooms, the “Théâtre de Verdure” (theater of green), and the surrounding gardens are open for guided visits hosted annually by the city. In addition to leisurely strolls from the lakeside Quai Gustave‑Ador overlooking Lake Geneva, the park offers family-friendly playgrounds, dog‑friendly paths and special seasonal exhibitions, making it a must‑visit destination for both locals and travelers alike.
