About
Bourbaki Panorama is a monumental 110‑meter panoramic painting housed in a historic rotunda in Lucerne’s old town. Created by Édouard Castres in 1881, it immerses viewers in the dramatic internment of over 87,000 French soldiers during the 1871 Franco‑Prussian War. The museum offers guided tours, a 360° film projection, and special exhibitions that highlight the extraordinary human stories of shelter and solidarity. With interactive displays and a “faux terrain” that surrounds the panorama, the venue provides an unforgettable journey into history and art.
