Bergrestaurant Blatten
About
Bergrestaurant Blatten is a family‑run mountain restaurant perched at the foot of the Matterhorn in the picturesque hamlet of Blatten, just a short walk from Zermatt. Since the early days of tourism in the 1850s, the Taugwalder family has served hearty alpine cuisine in a warm, rustic setting. Today the restaurant spans two floors, offering 90 seats inside and a terrace that can host 140 guests. Daily, the kitchen serves fresh dishes from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm, featuring locally grown herbs, seasonal salads, and classic Swiss specialties. During winter, every Thursday evening hosts a traditional fondue night, and from February through the end of the season a lively snow bar is open for guests to unwind after a day on the slopes. The restaurant is reachable by car via the Furi–Zermatt run (piste 50) or by a scenic 40‑minute winter walk, making it an ideal stop for skiers and hikers alike. Whether you’re looking for relaxed mountain dining, a cosy place to celebrate a special occasion, or a charming venue for corporate events, Bergrestaurant Blatten offers a blend of heritage, hospitality, and memorable Alpine vistas.
