Sarah and John moved their family from Lancashire to Keswick in April 2019. They bought Claremont House Bed and Breakfast as a perfect career opportunity for chef Sarah, to return to her catering roots. Claremont House built in 1830 with a stone laundry at the rear, now rebuilt into a self contained Airbnb style unit. Claremont House is an excellent choice for travellers visiting Keswick, offering free car parking, rooms with amazing views and generous outside Hike straight from the door up Wall Crag, Castlerigg Stone circles, Latrigg, Skiddaw or the railway line to Threlkheld. Rooms at Claremont House provide a smart TVs to log into Netflix, and getting online is easy, with free wifi. In addition, Sarah offers full Cumbrian breakfast, fresh fruit and home baking. While you’re here, be sure to check out some of the pubs, including The Pheasant Inn, The Dog and Gun, and The George, all of which are a short distance from Claremont House. Our new faves are Chintys cafe, and the Square Orange for great tapas and even better tunes! If self-contained is more our thing, have a look at our new Nook. Renovated in 2020 from our old stone laundry , we have created a separate space with patio and fire pit to enjoy the views in the tower of Bassenthwaite lake, cleaning your teeth see the top of Latrigg, and the view of Catbells from bed! Theres a kettle, toaster, microwave, sink and mini kitchenette. Smart TV and wifi too.
