The Puzzling Place is a world‑class optical‑illusion museum located in the heart of Keswick, Cumbria. Visitors step into five immersive rooms – the Anti‑Gravity Room, the Ames Room, the Hologram Gallery, the Sideways Room and the Eyelusion Exhibition – where impossible physics and mind‑bending tricks showcase the limits of our perception. From the moment you enter, balls roll uphill, water streams against gravity, and the walls seem to lean into the air, creating a playful, social experience that delights every age group. The venue is family‑friendly, with interactive displays that capture the wonder of science and art alike. Although the museum is housed on the first floor – meaning stairs are required – it offers a 24‑hour ticketing and free entry for under‑five‑year‑olds. Outdoor cafés and car parks are easily accessible a short walk away, while on-site toilets are not available. The museum is open 7 days a week during school holidays, from 10 am to 5:30 pm, and from 11 am to 5 pm on standard days, remaining closed on Mondays.
