About

W5 – the interactive science and discovery centre in Belfast’s Odyssey complex – invites curious minds of all ages to explore over 250 hands‑on exhibits spread across 3,500 square metres of engaging displays, themed galleries, a lecture theatre and dedicated workshop spaces. After a comprehensive refurbishment, the centre reopened in October 2021 with a fresh layout that makes learning fun and accessible. Visitors can dive into areas such as Engineering, Space, Health and the Ocean, each featuring immersive, experimental activities that turn abstract concepts into tangible experiences. The highlight of the upgraded W5 is the Climbit – the world’s tallest “Luckey Climber” – which lets children and adults alike challenge a 12‑metre high climbing wall in a safe, controlled environment. Together, the centre’s blend of science, technology and adventure makes it a standout destination for both education and entertainment in Northern Ireland.
