Packwood House
About
Packwood House is a beautifully restored 16th‑century Tudor country house set within 150 acres of parkland, wildflower meadows and ancient woodland. The National Trust’s flagship property offers visitors a harmonious blend of history, horticulture, and modern comforts. Inside, the house showcases original 19th‑century furnishings, subtle period details, and a remarkable collection of 16th‑century textiles and tapestries. The surrounding gardens feature vibrant herbaceous borders, a tranquil lakeside walk, sculpted yew trees, and an 18th‑century kitchen garden. Visitors can wander the formal garden terraces, explore the peaceful Yew Garden, and enjoy the café and shop located within the estate. The property attests to a family legacy of care, with multiple generations contributing to its preservation and continued public access. A day at Packwood House is ideal for strolls, picnics, and learning about Tudor architecture and landscape design, while the on‑site café offers a range of hot and cold foods and a selection of artisanal tea blends. The National Trust opens the house, gardens and parkland daily from 9:00 to 16:00, except during special wartime closures on 17 November, 24 December and 25 December. Tickets are required for non‑members – the standard adult admission is 12.10 GBP during winter months – but National Trust members enjoy free entry. Packwood House also hosts a calendar of seasonal events, from Christmas markets to summer garden tours, making it a vibrant destination throughout the year.
