About

The Davidstow Airfield and Cornwall at War Museum stands beside the historic Davidstow Creamery in Camelford, Cornwall, and serves as a tribute to the people and operations of RAF Davidstow Moor during World War II. The museum’s permanent exhibitions cover everyday life on the home front, the Royal Navy, Army, and civilian services in Cornwall, and the regional airfields that contributed to the war effort. Visitors can explore an impressive collection of Royal Observer Corps memorabilia, light infantry vehicles, and military equipment. In 2016 a new hangar was added to house larger displays, including a Fairey Gannet, a Hawker Hunter F.6 aircraft, and the cockpit of a de Havilland Vampire T.11, offering a tangible link to the pilots who defended Britain from the skies. Together, these displays provide a vivid, immersive snapshot of Cornwall’s wartime heritage and the vital role played by the local airfield.
