Persabus Farm Cottage
About
Persabus Cottage is situated on a working hebridean hill farm which has been managed by the Fletcher family for over one hundred years. The cottage boasts a secluded position within one mile of the ferry terminal at Port Askaig, with unsurpassed views of the Sound of Islay and the Paps of Jura. Caol ila distillery is a fifteen minute walk through the farm from the cottage and Bunnahabhain Distillery is an hour's walk along the winding single track road. The cottage combines the traditional with comfort and all modern conveniences. It sleeps four to six people, with three bedrooms (a double, a twin, and a room with bunk beds). The lounge has a traditional open fireplace, there is a small study and downstairs toilet. The large farmhouse kitchen has patio doors onto a private garden and there is a utility room off the kitchen, with plenty of room for drying wet clothing, walking boots etc. During the winter months the oil fired Rayburn is lit to toast your toes on after a day walking. The cottage is tastefully decorated and furnished, while a traditional oak staircase has a built in gate for the safety of younger visitors.Children and pets are welcome, however, we would remind you that the cottage is situated on a sheep farm and would ask that you keep any dogs under a degree of control. A warm welcome awaits you from the Fletcher family.
