The King's Restaurant
About
As one of the country's top hotels, it follows that a meal in its Kings Restaurant will be one to remember. The De Vere Grand Hotel was made famous by Quadrophenia and an endless parade of visiting dignitaries including JFK, Thatcher and Brown, but offers an atmosphere and history in more than just links to famous names. Here, you can enjoy classic English cuisine, with contemporary touches constantly updated by the Grand's passionate and inventive chefs. The locally inspired menu is a real delight, with food as sumptuous and original as the dcor. Everything is prepared freshly to the exacting standards of executive chef Alan White. There is a distinct Sussex flavour to the menu which includes locally caught fish, free range Sussex chicken and mushroom pie, and the shepherds pie is made with lamb that comes from Horam in East Sussex. The Kings Restaurant now also offers traditional Sunday roast lunch with all the trimmings at 13.95 for two courses.
