About

An old-fashioned and quirky traditional English restaurant and tea-rooms with an open fire and pretty outside seating for the summer. Famous for our delicious Cream Teas! We also serve hot food and home-made cakes all day. The lovely flint cottage was built in 1680 and was originally two fishermen’s cottages. We do have a friendly ghost, Mrs Mockford, whose husband Trunky Mockford, was a notorious smuggler who evaded Rottingdean customs officer by using tunnels from the beach to the cellar. Those who have seen Mrs Mockford come and go have always remarked on her serene smile and beautiful hat.
