We invite you to explore our fascinating museum of mental health in Bristol. The museum is based within the 1881 asylum church (now grade II listed) with beautiful stained glass windows. Set within the walled landscaped grounds of Bristol's purpose built asylum, it was designed to give hope and belief in the possibility of recovery. Discover our fascinating collection of medical curios, photographs and engaging displays (including a padded cell which you may enter) create a vivid picture of life & work in Bristol's historic hospitals. Find the key a patient made which unlocked all the doors. We also hold the story of the iconic yellow Dower House in Stoke Park. We host frequent art exhibitions and have a busy programme of creative workshops, wellbeing activities and events.
