M Shed is Bristol’s dynamic museum of the city’s present and past, housed in a historic dockside shed on Wapping Road. The museum weaves stories of everyday Bristol life, its maritime heritage and its pivotal role in the slave trade through more than 3,000 artefacts, films, photographs and interactive displays. From prehistoric tools to contemporary art installations, visitors can trace the city’s evolution from the old Bristol Industrial Museum to the modern ‘Shed of Stories’ that opened in 2011, with free admission making it an accessible cultural hub for families, history enthusiasts and curious travelers alike.
