Situated at the end of a tree-lined drive, this 17th Century Grade II listed farmhouse is secluded yet well-placed being 8 miles from the Georgian city of Bath and 8 miles from the historic city of Wells. The house has recently been refurbished to a high standard in neutral tones; it offers a calm and relaxing environment. Beds are dressed in pure cotton bed-linen and soft fluffy towels are provided for your comfort. Free wifi is also included. Set within a conservation area and overlooking 20 acres of Duchy land, the Old Farmhouse has private lawns and courtyard areas which guests are welcome to use. It also proffers a ‘taste of history’ as this House was built during the early years of the English Civil War. It housed Royalists on their campaign South and purportedly, it may have even housed King Charles I - a claim currently being researched by our local historian!As with most listed farm houses of this age there are a few quirky things to consider which we are unable to change; the floor levels are uneven, the height of the doors are all odd as are the windows, the water pressure can get a bit grumpy, but these all add to the character of this charming house.
