Abbots Harbour Licensed Cafe Restaurant
About
This is a very low tech business with no internet profile or web site, just the friendliest, best value, snacks, desserts, tea-time treats, sunday roasts and traditional english staple dishes that anyone with a hearty appetite can reslish. Its sited in an old extended cottage-style building 50 metres from the Leeds/Liverpool canal about 15 mins drive from Skipton, and with exception of Xmas Day is open every day of the year apart from the family's chosen holiday week (usually Feb), but only until 5pm each day. Food is plentiful, all main meals include ample fresh & beautifully cooked vegetables on a separate platter (along with a delicious gravy boat if needed). Popular with walkers (from either Lancs or Yorkshire, being a few minutes off the Pennine Way) , and cyclists aswell as visitors arriving by car, and customers from the nearby riding school. No matter how sophisticated the customer - and we've taken plenty of visitors there - we have never been disappointed by their food or service. Being too popular on sunny sundays, when the garden swells the covers, is their main hold up. Fab, simple and classic roasts, and truly home made meat pies, and lashings of tea top ups - though they do serve alcohol - are their strength!! And lovely easy, after food walks available on the canal banks nearby. The restaurant is signedoff the main A59, adjacent the hamlet/pub in East Marton just 1 minute down a quiet back lane.
