The Leaping Hare
About
Housed in a 400‑year‑old barn, The Leaping Hare marries rustic charm with refined cuisine, offering a dining experience where every dish tells a story of place and season. The menus, inspired by the rhythms of the estate, feature produce from the on‑site gardens and meats from the pastures, and the restaurant proudly holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand for over twenty years. Sustainability is central to the Leaping Hare’s ethos. The estate manages ancient woodlands and wetland grazing to support biodiversity, and the by‑products—timber for heating, venison for the menu—create a closed‑loop system. Solar panels power most of the operation, and the surrounding hedgerows provide natural habitat for wildlife. Guests can enjoy breakfast from 10 am (9 am on Saturday) and lunch from noon to 2:30 pm, with dinner available Friday and Saturday from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. While breakfast and afternoon meals do not require reservations, lunch and dinner are highly recommended. Dogs are not allowed inside the restaurant, but are welcome on the terrace.
