The Crown & Punchbowl
About
The Crown & Punchbowl is a charming 17th‑century Grade II listed country inn and modern British restaurant, set beside the village church in Horningsea, just 3 miles north of Cambridge. Its nine comfortably fitted double rooms are ensuite and named after Cambridge‑alumni such as Franklin, Turing and Hawking, making it an ideal base for a relaxed stop‑over or a romantic break. The pub‑restaurant serves fresh, seasonal food and real ales straight from the cask, with a celebrated Sunday roast and a café‑style menu for lunch. Outdoor seating is available in summer, while cosy real fires keep the interior warm in winter. Dogs are welcome and a special dog menu is provided. A dedicated parking area and short bus link to Cambridge (15 min) add to its convenience for travellers.
