A traditional family run pub in the village of Black Notley near Braintree in Essex serving good quality pub food freshly prepared on the premises & serving Adnams & Bishops Nick real ales, lagers, ciders, wine & spirits. During the week our great value lunch menu starts from as little as £2.99 and there is a excellent choice of snacks and lunches for under £7.99. We love steak & grills and have a Big Green Egg charcoal oven in which we chargrill our superb quality steaks to perfection before serving them with hand chips & sides - we recommend you come and try one soon! We are open all day on Saturdays and Sundays when we serve a choice of two delicious roasts & children under 12 eat for free! Our large TV screen in the barn end shows BT sport and we regularly show sports including rugby & football and we have regular quiz, bingo & other event nights - follow us on facebook to keep up to date with what we are doing.
