Winchcombe Museum
About
"The Museum, located in the old Victorian Town Hall right in the centre of the town, contains a wide range of artefacts, documents and information about the extensive history of this unique Cotswold town. The Museum gives you a fascinating look back to the prehistoric site at Belas Knap, the huge medieval Abbey, and right through the centuries covering tobacco growing, the wool industry, the English Civil War and up to the current day with the inclusion of a piece from the Winchcombe Meteorite which landed on a driveway here in February 2021. Winchcombe Museum is family friendly, well behaved dogs on leads are welcome and there is a passenger lift and disabled toilet facilities. Entry to the Museum is free with an optional donation. There is also an exciting new shop on the ground Floor, opened in April 2024 – The Undercroft at Winchcombe Museum - full of local souvenirs & heritage gifts, walking accessories and books on the local area & the town’s history."
