Join me, Simon Corble, as I lead walks from the village of Monyash to listen for birdsong. We are blessed with a wide variety of birds and my walk is crafted to help you identify, but above all ENJOY their calls & songs. We begin with familiar Thrushes & Finches around the lovely water of Fere Mere, with frogs, fish & flowers too. In May & June the swallows will be swooping down to splash-bathe. We walk on through open woodland (the ancient churchyard) to discover birds such as the tiny Goldcrest, noisy Chiffchaff and the Blackcap – aka, The Northern Nightingale. Out into fields for Skylarks and, if we are lucky, the bubbling song of the Curlew. We join a flower-rich green lane and stroll into a White Peak dale to find stunning Redstarts and tuneful Willow Warblers. The flowers and butterflies are amazing here. The walk lasts up to two hours, at a very easy pace. 2 to 8 adults max. Book ahead to secure a place. It's only £10 by cash or card.. Kids & good, quiet dogs FREE!
