About

Arundel Castle, a stunning Grade I listed medieval fortress in West Sussex, England, stands as a testament to nearly a millennium of history. Founded in the 11th century by Roger de Montgomery, the castle has survived sieges, civil war, and centuries of architectural transformation, culminating in the 19th‑century restorations led by the 15th Duke of Norfolk. Visitors are treated to a richly furnished interior that showcases fine furniture, period artwork, and the 14th‑century Fitzalan Chapel. The surrounding gardens are equally spectacular. In 2008 the Collector’s Earl Garden opened, a jewel of horticultural design that features the iconic Oberon’s Palace pavilion, a shellwork grotto, and a striking waterfall fountain. Together, the medieval castle grounds and the modern garden create a harmonious blend of history and nature. Arundel Castle welcomes guests  Monday – Sunday (with pre‑booking recommended during peak seasons and for special events). Adult admission is £13, seniors £9, and children under 12 enter free; tickets can be purchased online or at the gift shop. The visitor experience is enriched by guided tours, educational programmes, and regular cultural events, and the park has served as a film location for titles such as "The Young Victoria" and "Wonder Woman."
