The Robert Burre
About
The Robert Burre is a traditional pub & restaurant located in Burrs Road, Clacton, which is just over 2 miles from the town center. It has a good-sized car park which means parking is never an issue. The Burre is run and staffed mostly by their very large family, plus their Head Chef, Kieran, and the long-time barman Charlie. The pub is steeped in history and is reported to be haunted, and according to the old landlord "the little girl, ghost" (Charlotte) saved his life (if you're lucky the old landlord may tell you the story himself as he is still a regular) The Robert Burre was built in the late 1300s and as the age suggests makes it postcard perfect. The internal decoration is very old school with beautiful exposed oak beams with traditional low ceilings and open fireplaces making it home from home on a cold frosty winter's evening. The pub serves food from 1 pm until 9 pm where you can have an informal snack in the bar or a hearty meal in the restaurant.
