Friels Historic Bar & Restaurant are a 5th generation, family-run, award-winning, Irish Bar and Restaurant in the heart of the Mid Ulster countryside, in the picturesque village of Swatragh. We are halfway between Belfast and Derry, just off the Glenshane Pass on A29, 5 miles from Maghera. Public Bar seats 70 and Restaurant is 90 seater. We offer 3 seperate outdoor beer garden areas. Bar has original wooden ceiling, ornate counter dating back to 1888. We are one of those places with all the charm of an ‘old man’s pub’ but with the buzz of weekend cocktails, with Family Sunday lunch and coffee catch-ups. We offer full Motorhome facilities at rear of the property at a rate of £20 per night, with full facilities. We have also opened a new Visitor Centre called GORTA onsite. Open Daily.
