Welcome to Characters tea room - a secret to be found. Tucked away on a side street we are not easy to find. But when you do you are in for a big surprise. You could say quirky and you would be right. Old china, cups, saucers, plates, glasses, furniture etc all completely mismatched giving the place character and ambiance! Food is wholesome and unpretentious. Homemade soups, fresh sandwiches, toasties, paninis, jacket potatoes and salads. Also a choice of tasty cakes and sweet delights and a variety of scones which are served with fresh whipped cream, rich strawberry jam & creamy butter; the basis of our famous Afternoon Tea. We offer a large variety of loose leaf tea & serve fresh bean coffee, iced coffee & milkshakes. You can bring your own wine, beer or Prosecco, we will supply the glasses! We can accommodate large bookings in our “Alice room” ~ babyshowers, parties etc. Whenever you decide to visit you will be greeted with a warm welcome from the staff. Hope to see you soon.
