A 15th century pub with rooms, nestled in Hartfield, in the heart of the Ashdown Forest - home of Winnie-the-Pooh. All of our delicious dishes are homemade at The Bear Inn, using fresh, seasonal ingredients, alongside our own local honey, collected from our hives around Sussex. ​ The Saloon Bar & Beer Garden is open everyday, serving our new lunch & dinner menus are made using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Everything from Harvey's beer battered cod & chips, Summer salads, traditional Sunday roasts, ploughman’s, desserts, kid’s meals & more! ​ You’ll also find our range of local tipples behind the bar such as Harvey’s Best, Long Man Ales & Rathfinny Wines, alongside our extensive Wine List. In the mornings, The Honey Pot Coffee house at The Bear is open from 8:30am! Serving delicious Pastries, Breakfast, Cream Tea, Cakes & Coffees, available to eat in or takeaway with you until 11:30am.
