The Royal Oak
About
The village of Holmbury St Mary lays high in the Surrey Hills. The glorious countryside with far-reaching views is a popular location for walkers, ramblers, cyclists and mountain-bikers. The Royal Oak was originally a cottage, built in about the 1730s. The triangular green onto which it looks out, along with the church perched nearby on a slope with pine trees behind and houses dotted around, gives the impression that things haven't changed for centuries. Re-opened on the 1st February 2023, the pub is now owned and run by a small group of local residents. The traditional bar area, with oak beams, fireplace and stonework lead you through to another level with a fresh perspective to this delightful village pub. Neil and the team look forward to welcoming you. Head Chef Richard Attkins is a member of the Masterchefs of Great Britain and serves up delicious dishes, freshly prepared from locally sourced ingredients.
