Emmetts Garden
About
Emmetts Garden is a stunning Edwardian hillside garden located in the picturesque village of Ide Hill, Sevenoaks, Kent. The expansive grounds offer panoramic views over the Kent countryside and feature a diverse range of cultivated areas, including the alpine‑inspired Rock Garden, the formal Rose Garden filled with traditional pink and white roses, the North and South Gardens showcasing an impressive collection of trees and shrubs, and a serene Woodland with a pinetum of unique pine specimens. Visitors can also enjoy a natural children’s Wild Play Area, a charming shop selling peat‑free plants and local products, and the visiting visitor centre, where an outdoor unit provides snacks and drinks during the Old Stables Tearoom’s renovation. Whether you’re a garden enthusiast, a family looking for a relaxed day out, or a hiker in search of peaceful walking trails, Emmetts Garden offers a delightful blend of botanical beauty and tranquil ambience. The garden opens daily from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, with the café closing at 3:30 pm. Adult admission is £10.00 (non‑Gift Aad) during the November–February season, with a reduced child rate of £5.50 for ages 5–17 and free entry for visitors under five. Families and groups can purchase combined tickets, and all visitors may enjoy free parking when entering the garden. Best seasons for a visit are spring and autumn, when the gardens are in full bloom and the weather is mild.
