About

Applegarth House is Listed with Sawday’s Special Places to Stay . Applegarth offers dinner, bed and breakfast where you can enjoy Andrew and Kirsteen’s delightful hospitality. Tea in fine bone China with homemade scones and cake await guests and an invitation for pre-dinner drinks. Applegarth is the original seat of the Clan Jardine dating back to the 12th century. The clan chief’s family name is Jardine of Applegirth ~ taking the middle ages spelling. The House is built on where once stood the original 12th century Motte and Bailey. Formerly the Manse (Rectory in Scottish) to Applegarth Church, Applegarth House and Cottages are just a short drive from Lockerbie and Junction 17 on the M74. It is situated very close to the River Annan – lovely for fishermen and is an oasis of rural tranquillity. “There are B&Bs and B&Bs. Andrew and Kirsteen have created an exquisite experience just minutes from the M74 in their beautiful home" Philip - York
