Barend is an idyllic setting, overlooking a loch and surrounded by hills and forests teeming with wildlife, only a quarter of a mile inland from beautiful and safe Sandyhills beach on the Colvend coast. We are an ideal base for walkers, cyclists - including visitors to the famous 7 Stanes mountain bike trails - bird watchers and all those who enjoy all the peaceful outdoor pursuits available in the stunning scenery which is Dumfries & Galloway: an area of outstanding natural beauty. All of our Scandinavian style chalets are comfortable with central heating for all year round use. We offer "Pets welcome" as well as "pet free chalets". We offer 4 different of accommodation: all well equipped for the freedom of self-catering and all with some ground floor sleeping accommodation. Our prices include bed linen and towels. All lodges have TV,DVD players and Dishwashers. Some have Satellite: the rest have freeview or Free Sat and most have Wi-Fi internet access. Our most popular chalets are Type A: A two story chalet with two double or twin bedrooms: one with en-suite toilet & hand basin: a large upstairs playroom / bedroom: sleeping up to eight. Some A types have an upstairs bedroom and full en-suite bathroom instead and sleep up to six. In all, a house bathroom downstairs: large living & dinning area with kitchen: upstairs and downstairs decks with great views. Any length of stay of three nights or more, arriving on any day subject to availability. We are open all year.
