Discover Scotland's rural heritage at Barry Mill, one of Scotland's last operational watermills, beautifully restored and cared for by the National Trust for Scotland. Situated in a tranquil valley only 10 miles from Dundee, visitors can once again experience the milling journey in action on a guided tour, as the 15-foot waterwheel powers three floors of 19th century wooden engineering. Tour visitors on a Friday can also enjoy a full milling demonstration. Beyond the mill, enjoy peaceful woodland walks along the Barry Burn, the perfect haven for wildlife spotting, including tawny owls and pipistrelle bats. Parking: Free on-site parking is available for visitors. Step inside to explore the three-floor structure, featuring the meal floor, milling floor, and top floor, each showcasing the traditional milling process.
