Camperdown Country Park
About
Camperdown Country Park is Dundee’s largest green space, spanning 400 acres of mature woodland, open‑air trails and historic gardens. The park sits on the former grounds of the 19th‑century Camperdown House, a Greek‑Revival mansion that now opens its doors to visitors for guided tours. At the heart of the park lies the Camperdown Wildlife Centre, home to more than 300 animals of 50 species, including bears, deer, owls and rare reptiles. Whether you’re strolling along scenic pathways, exploring the ancient elms, or watching the wildlife centre’s resident bears, the park offers a tranquil retreat in the city with plenty of natural and cultural attractions. Recommended visit time is about four hours to experience the main highlights – the wildlife centre, the historic house, and a pleasant walk through the park’s varied habitats. Best season: late spring to early autumn – the weather is warm, the wildlife is active and the gardens are in full bloom, making it ideal for family outings and nature photography.
