About

Annapura Annapurna comes from Sanskrit and literally means giver of food.Annapurna is the Hindu goddess of nourishment and legend has it that she along with her consort, Shiva fed the whole world. Gurkha is synonymous with Pahadi and is derived from the hilltown village of Gorkha. The name can be traced back to themedieval warrior saint Gura Gorakhnath who has a historicshrine in Gorkha. The relationship with the UK started from the 18th century whenJung Bahadur Rana first visited the UK. Later the UK decided to take hundreds of Nepalese people into the British Army afterseeing and hearing about their bravery and willingness to work hard. Later they called these Nepalese soldiers The Gurkhas. With the aim of providing pure, natural and popular food of Nepal we opened the Annapurna Ghurkha Restaurant. We tryto, not only bring the original taste of Nepalese cooking but also try to introduce our culture, society and background.
