Carlowrie Castle is an award-winning wedding and events venue situated near Edinburgh, Scotland. Set within 32 acres of grounds and gardens, this family-owned castle has been the home of romance and adventure for many generations, from the modern-day love stories of our wedding couples to the adventures of the castle's most famous resident, Isobel Wylie Hutchison, the 20th-century explorer, who lived at Carlowrie all her life. Following an extensive refurbishment, Carlowrie Castle opened in 2015 and was quickly recognised by The International Hotel Awards as one of the top three venues in Europe with under 200 bedrooms. In 2020, The UK Wedding Awards named Carlowrie as the best castle wedding venue of the year and in 2022 Grazia Magazine voted Carlowrie as one of the 8 best wedding venues around the world. Whether you choose Carlowrie Castle for a wedding, a business event or a gala dinner, there's something about the Castle that brings an extra sprinkle of magic to the occasion. When you book an event, the castle and gardens are exclusively yours for the day, and we have 55 members of staff who are here to make your time at Carlowrie a truly stand-out experience. We welcome guests from all over the world, hosting groups of all sizes, from small intimate gatherings of 25 to fabulous drinks receptions for 500 people. Our Marble Suite and Piano Room are perfect for smaller gatherings, while our Orangery and Garden Marquee are ideal for larger celebrations and business events. The venue has three bars and plenty of quiet corners for relaxation and conversation. And our elegant walled garden provides the perfect backdrop for outdoor weddings and events in the summer months. There are 21 luxury bedrooms within the castle, gate lodge and newly converted stables. Each room features handcrafted beds and cabinetry, and original artwork by contemporary artists. Our ensuite bathrooms have underfloor heating, gorgeous roll-top baths and spacious walk-in showers.
