Dunfermline Carnegie Library & Galleries (DCL&G) offers a museum, gallery spaces, shop, café and reading rooms all adjoining the world's first Carnegie Library. Come and view our FREE exhibitions as well as our permanent museum exhibition, explore the rich past of the locality through 6 themes: Industry, Leisure & Recreation, Transport, Conflict, Homes and Royal Dunfermline. (please note that the Granary Cafe closes one hour before the venue). Our latest exhibition is Joseph Noel Paton, An Artist’s Life – From Dunfermline to the Royal Court (on until 9 Feb 2024). Dunfermline Carnegie Library and Galleries welcomes home one of its own with a major exhibition devoted to the life and work of Sir Joseph Noel Paton. Dunfermline-born artist, illustrator, poet, Painter to Queen Victoria and a contemporary of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, was a towering figure in the Victorian art world.
