Georgian House
About
The Georgian House is a beautifully preserved 18th‑century townhouse in Edinburgh’s New Town, managed by the National Trust for Scotland. Visitors wander through a self‑guided tour of the beautifully restored drawing room, kitchen, and servants’ quarters, guided by passionate volunteers who bring the house’s history to life. The property also features a charming gift shop selling Scottish crafts and books on the Georgian era. During the winter season (6 Feb–28 Feb) the house is open Friday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (last admission 3:00 p.m.). Planning a visit in advance is recommended, especially during peak times, but admission is free for members. The Georgian House offers a unique glimpse into late Georgian architecture, period furnishings, and the social life of Edinburgh’s elite, making it a must‑visit for history lovers and casual travellers alike.
